Mechanics scope
Mechanics
The game represents the Earth in several interplaying categories. This section explores the different mechanics in consideration by the simulation. The design is still not completed but this should hope to provide light on the planned features of the game. The game puts you in the seat of the central planner, preparing five year plans, assigning where expertise and industrial capacity is allocated while choosing the energy grid distribution and prioritising research. Within every five years, you watch as your plans unfold, as emergent developments proceed and via little vignettes, you can experience how your decisions affect the people on the ground.
Social
The revolution will end up having immense changes upon the societies of Earth. This will be reflected by transitions in the way humans interact. Working class consciousness will not be represented holistically, but as a set of different dialectic positions. Cultural ideas such as the transition to veganism, adoption of working class ideals, self administration of government and others will each have their own progress and possibilities.
The first stages may require the player to win over all continents to supporting the revolutionary planning committee as part of the social change or to enforce it through brutal methods via the military and secret service. In a condition where half of the Earth's population is of the proletariat, as in wage workers, a bourgeoisie counterrevolution would not be immediate and open, instead the big corporations from their bunker baronies plot under the Banner of Capital for terror insurgencies and assassinations.
Later turns may deal with rising issues and pressures from society, including the petty bourgeois , federal and national questions.
Economics
The revolution will need to ensure that it can produce and run all of society. While the resources already exist for a superabundance on Earth, workers will first need to adapt to acquiring ownership and knowledge over the economy of Earth. The next challenge will be to address living conditions and organise a centrally planned world economy, making industries work together and distribute over earth. Policies such as the energy and fuel distribution of the planet as well as transportation and industrial concerns will be critical and shift overtime to respond to new demands and technologies.
EcologicalThe overgrown capitalist system has cursed the planet to face ecological crises. Fast acting and smart planner decisions will be required to put human production on a path that is harmonious with ecology. An accord may need to be struck between rapid productivity growth and ecological friendliness.
Technologies
The boom of a socialist era will require the integration of academia into a global research network that will be able to unlock newer technology and remove fetters over research. This may be key in developing the socialist world into a paradise. Technologies will not have a clear research tree, instead being an experimental endeavour that the player must risk resources into.
